Teaching Your Dog To Touch
Teaching your dog to give you his paw is really quite easy. I read no guides or books on how to teach my dog to do this, I just did what I thought would work. Here is what I did:
I started by getting him to sit and then I knelt in front of him and picked up his paw and gave the command "paw" while doing so and if he did not struggle, I either praised him physically or gave him a treat. Gradually, he started to learn to pick up his paw when I gave him the command and clicked my fingers (this is just what I found easy to do and he seemed to agree). There is no special technique to teach your dog to touch, so it is just something that you find easiest.
