Daily Grooming
Grooming your dog daily not only keeps him very clean and healthy, but it also reasserts your authority over it. You will have to pick up the dog and open its mouth which are very domant gestures, which reinforce your control. At the begging, it is best to use food rewards as a distraction while you grrom him and then only use verbal or physical praise.
Pick up the dog by putting one arm around its chest an the other around its rump. Then place it on a grooming table (this can be any table just clear it all so it is an empty surface, best not to use a glass table) and to ensure that your dog will not slip off, place a rubber mat under its feet. Then you can do all the grooming it needs, it varies from breed to breed so it is best to ask your breeder what is needed.
