Dogs generally get into the habit of jumping up on people when they come into the house or even when you return home one day. Normally, its just puppies, but sooner or later, those puppies are going to turn into full grown dogs and having them jump up on you can be a real pain so here are a few tips that can prevent that.

The reason they jump up onto you or others is because of the excitement that they have inside them that they just can not hold in. To try and start stopping this, whenever you get home, as soon as you step into the door, give your dog the sit command, make sure he sits and praise him greatly for his obedience, there is nothing like a bit of praise that can do great good.

Also, when you have guests or visitors around, try and tell them before hand and get your dog to site and stay and then let your guests praise him and say hello until he is content, at first, it may take a while for him to get the hand of it, but in the long term, it is very sucessful.
